Tricarico Arrives. "I am Francesco!" at the Rocca di Fano.

Francesco Tricarico
Fano, August 8, 2025 – Someone who in life called himself "Francesco Tricarico" and even shouted "I am Francesco!" in a song to all of Italy, is certainly not afraid to show himself for who he is. Wild-eyed, tender, and sharp. And on Friday, August 8, at the Rocca Malatestiana in Fano (9:15 pm), audiences will be able to find him like this: part buffoon, part philosopher, and definitely authentic.
It's one of the highlights of Musicology Live , a summer festival that confirms its penchant for creative forays, halfway between singer-songwriter and urban poetry. Tricarico returns with the summer tour "Io sono Tricarico – 2025," accompanied by Michele Fazio on piano and himself on vocals and flute, an instrument that seems to add a touch of old-world lightness to even his most cutting ironies. The setlist, of course, will include the hits that made him famous, from the celebrated (and once scandalous) "Io sono Francesco," which remained in the charts for three months, to "Tre colori," "Il bosco delle fragole," and "Vita tranquilla," a catchy song that, more than a hit, was a manifesto of melancholic resilience ante litteram.
And then there will be new songs, because Tricarico is one of those people who never really stopped, not even when everyone said he was gone. But before him, the Rocca stage will be entrusted to two "outstanding" artists of independent music: Atipico, aka Andrea D'Orazio, inspired by Italian singer-songwriters and Brit-pop, and Napodano, who describes himself as a "frustrated singer-songwriter," but who won an award for Quando cade un dente and has just released the album Storie di una sera... con poca gente. Restlessness and self-irony seem to be the watchwords for both, and it's no coincidence that preceding Tricarico are two musicians who know how to dance on the edge of irony. Tickets can be purchased online at Liveticket or at the Teatro della Fortuna box office.
